About Brown Sugar Factory
The village of Xing is located in a Sugarcane cultivation region. The production of brown sugar is therefore the village’s primary source of income, and counts as a traditional handicraft industry. However, the old brown sugar factories didn’t meet modern requirements, so a new one was built with modern construction technology and lighting, though still using local materials like red bricks and bamboo. Brown Sugar Factory serves multi purposes as the production plant, activity center, and cultural exhibition space. As a living museum, the workshop exhibits ancient sugar making. There is a glass wall overlooking the idyllic scenery outside. The villagers admire the views while working in the workshop, which doubles as a leisure area for people during breaks from farming on the land. Visitors may stay and get an experience of the idyllic rural life here.
